How Cleaning Your House Can Reduce the Likelihood of Allergy Related Health Problems

Quick tips on proper summer house cleaning practices to maintain an allergy free household

It’s summer again and that means allergy season, pollen is in the air and mold is looking for a damp place to grow. There are many ways to prevent allergies but one of the easiest is simply keeping your home clean. Here are a few tips on how to keep your house clean in order to prevent allergy related discomfort.

Beds
One of the most important tasks is to make sure to wash all sheets and pillowcases at least once per week. If this isn’t possible make sure to at least change the sheets and remove dirty sheets from all bedrooms.
Carpets
Carpets are excellent at absorbing stains, which also means they’re excellent at absorbing allergens. This means that all carpets need to be cleaned often to prevent the buildup of dust, pollen, mold spores and pet dander. Carpets should be vacuumed at least once a week and shampooed frequently to remove these unwanted allergens.
